Gold’s Gym does not publish a national membership agreement, a dues figure or a cancellation notice period on the pages we could reach. What its own join page does publish is who the contract is actually with — and that is the fact that matters most before signing: the agreement is with an independent franchisee, not with Gold’s Gym as a brand. Everything else on this page follows from that.

What matters when choosing Gold’s Gym

The membership agreement is with an independent franchisee, not with Gold’s Gym. The join page states it in the first person: “I understand that I am creating a profile with an independent third party franchisee. I agree to the {privacy_policy} and consent to communication from the Franchisee, {full_gym_name}…” and “I have read and agree to the Membership Agreement terms with {legal_entity} {full_gym_name}.” A separate notice about Gold’s Gym Tennessee adds: “Gold’s Gym Tennessee refers to an association of independently owned and operated Gold’s Gym franchises which offer each other’s members certain reciprocal benefits. Each franchise maintains its own independent corporate status…”

No dues figure, commitment length or cancellation policy is published on the join page. The plan block is a template with unresolved placeholders rather than real numbers — ”${{dues_amount}}/{{dues_interval}} plus ${{processing_fee}}/{{dues_interval}} processing fee, total dues of ${{total_monthly_dues}}/{{dues_interval}} for initial term”, “{{commitment_months}}”, ”${{enrollment_amount}} one-time Enrollment Fee (plus tax, if applicable)”. The join page carries both: “Membership will auto-renew after the initial term at ${{renewal_dues}}…” and, in the terms block, “You will continue to be charged {{price_period}} for your membership until you cancel.” Combined with the clause deflecting cancellation to a separate document, that means the renewal rate and the cancellation method each have to be confirmed with the franchisee before joining.

The published “Terms and Conditions” are the website’s terms, not the membership contract. goldsgym.com/terms-and-conditions/ runs to 35,000 characters but covers the digital properties, scraping, SMS consent, DMCA, termination of site access and arbitration. It contains no dues, no freeze policy and no membership notice period, and notices are directed to a corporate address in Dallas. It is not the agreement that governs a club membership.

The dedicated membership-agreement and cancellation pages are not readable. goldsgym.com/membership-agreement/ returns 399 characters and /cancel/ 385 characters — both are empty shells with no substantive text. /membership returns a 404.

Before you join

Ask the franchisee for the membership agreement itself, in writing, before you sign — the join page’s own text says the cancellation policy and the agreement terms sit in it. Establish from that document the dues amount, the initial term length, the renewal rate, the cancellation method and any notice period, because none of those five figures is published on the national pages. Confirm whether the club you want is corporate or franchised, since each franchisee “maintains its own independent corporate status” and can set its own terms. Treat any national price you see quoted elsewhere as unverified, because the join page publishes placeholders rather than numbers.
