Smart Fit

Smart Fit is a Brazilian gym chain, and its plan page is one of the few that publishes the full ladder in one place: three plans, each with a first month at zero and a published monthly figure from the second month on. What separates them is not the price alone but the commitment and the network access.

What matters when choosing Smart Fit

Only the top plan opens the network. The plan page states it directly: “O Smart e o Fit dão acesso apenas à unidade de matrícula. O Black amplia o acesso para mais de 2 mil unidades em qualquer Smart Fit do mundo, às nossas cadeiras de massagem e convidar amigos.” Smart and Fit restrict you to your enrolling club; Black extends to more than 2,000 units worldwide and adds the massage chairs and friend invites. If you move between cities or want a second location, the cheaper two plans do not carry that.

The cheapest plan is also the only one without a commitment term. Plano Fit is R$99,90/mês and the page calls it “Nosso plano mais econômico”. Plano Black is R$159,90/mês and carries “12 meses de fidelidade” — a twelve-month commitment. Neither figure is the first month: on all three plans the first month is R$0,00, so the price you are comparing starts from month two.

Plano Smart sits in the middle and drops the commitment. At R$119,90/mês it is marked “Sem fidelidade”, which is the difference that matters if you want the middle access level without being tied to a year.

The commitment is the number to total, not the monthly figure. A R$99,90 plan and a R$159,90 plan with twelve months of fidelity are different purchases, and the plan page publishes the commitment term but not a cancellation fee. Ask what breaking the twelve months costs before choosing Black, because the page does not state it.

Before you join or train

• Work out which access level you need first: single-club or network. That single question decides between Fit/Smart and Black.
• Total the plan over its real term — twelve months of R$159,90 is not comparable to a rolling R$119,90.
• Ask for the fee for leaving a twelve-month plan early, since the plan page publishes the term but not the exit cost.
• If massagem and guest access are why you want Black, check that the club you enrol at actually has them.
