Rogue Fitness

Rogue Fitness is a US strength-equipment manufacturer whose catalogue centres on Olympic barbells, power racks and rigs, benches, plate storage and conditioning tools. When choosing Rogue equipment, check the warranty for the exact component and SKU, not just the headline frame coverage.

What matters when choosing Rogue

Coverage varies substantially by component. In the general schedule, structural welds and frames carry a “Limited Lifetime Warranty”, while bronze bushings, pillow block bearings, pulley wheels, cables, guide rods and sealed roller bearings run five years; upholstery and grips, wheels and wood items ninety days; medballs two years; sewn items three years.

“Limited Lifetime” is defined by where coverage stops, not by a date. Rogue’s definition: coverage “ends when the product becomes unusable for reasons other than defects in materials or workmanship”. The same passage states that the warranty “applies only to the original purchaser of the product for so long as the original purchaser owns the product, and is non-transferable” — but that language sits in the document’s barbell warranty section, not in the general schedule covering frames. A second-hand buyer should not assume either way that a rack or a bar carries cover.

Barbell terms are per-SKU, under a “Date Started” column. The tables list a SKU, a name, the date the term started and the term itself. Most Rogue entries are Lifetime Warranty, but the Echo Bar and Echo Bar 2.0 are one year and the 25mm Women’s B&R Bar 2.0 is five. Bella Bar 2.0 appears twice — SKU RA0584 started 5/2/2014 as Construction Warranty, SKU RA2894 started 9/22/2023 as Lifetime Construction. Rogue defines three separate terms here: Lifetime Warranty, Specific Period (“a period of __ years from the date of purchase”), and Construction, which it defines as coverage “for construction only”, with no duration given.

Not every barbell sold by Rogue carries a Rogue warranty. The document runs separate schedules for bars manufactured by Power Place Products, Eleiko, Uesaka, Werksan and York. On the Power Place bars it states: “Any warranty on these bars is provided by Power Place Products and is passed on to the customer from them… Rogue does not make any representations or warranties related to Power Place Products warranty policies, or that Power Place Products will continue to honor any warranties previously made.” That table also carries a Date Stopped column, and some SKUs are listed with the term None.

Before you buy

• Check the shorter component terms, not just the frame warranty. Upholstery, grips, wheels and wood items carry ninety days — the shortest term on the schedule, which says nothing about how long the part lasts.
• Look up the SKU in the table it actually sits in. Two entries under one model name, with different terms and different start dates, is the case a shop page cannot show you.
• The ECHO Airbike sits outside the general schedule, on its own two-year warranty: “All labor shall be the responsibility of the owner”, “Original Proof of Purchase is required to invoke this warranty”, shipping a product for service “is the purchaser’s sole responsibility”, and it “applies only to Product purchased from Rogue”.
• “Made in the USA” is partial, by Rogue’s own account. Their support article states that where a product is imported — “like certain cast iron plates” — “it will be clearly labeled as such”.
