We do not hold per-dimension scores for Beyond Yoga. Every dimension reads the same number in our records, which means the value was never assessed rather than that all six came out equal, so we show nothing rather than a number we cannot stand behind.
Verdict
Beyond Yoga is a female-founded apparel brand, not an equipment company, and the honest version of its pitch is fabric hand-feel plus a genuinely wide size range. The company states it was founded in 2005 by Jodi Guber Brufsky and Michelle Wahler. Its fabric guide publishes exact fibre compositions for its named fabrics rather than adjectives alone: Spacedye, the best-selling fabric, is 87% polyester and 13% elastane and is described as its buttery soft performance fabric; glowzone is 75% recycled nylon and 25% elastane and is specified for high-sweat situations such as HIIT, spin, hot yoga and Pilates; Fade Out Terry is 55% BCI cotton and 45% recycled polyester. Two corrections to what this page previously claimed. First, the fabric name Butterluxe does not appear anywhere on a 144,317-character fabric guide page, so it was not a real Beyond Yoga fabric. Second, the previous version said the leggings may lack compression and sweat-wicking for intense cardio, which is backwards: glowzone exists specifically for that use, and the brand is explicit that its lightweight fabric is cut without the compressive fit as a design choice rather than a limitation. What we could not verify is the sustainability story. Beyond Yoga publishes a sustainability page and a ThredUp-powered resale programme, but the sustainability page did not render for us, so we are not restating the recycled-content claims beyond the specific fabric percentages the fabric guide itself lists.
Market Position
Yoga and low-impact apparel brand, US DTC plus physical stores. Sampled best-seller prices 2026-10-05 were $68 to $148 with markdowns to $39.50 and $49.50.
What Distinguishes This Brand
Named fabrics with published fibre content, in a size range that goes to 4X. Beyond Yoga is one of the few apparel brands in this category whose fabric guide gives exact percentages for each named fabric rather than a feel adjective, which makes it possible to match a garment to a use case before buying: glowzone for high-sweat work, Spacedye for everything else, Featherweight Spacedye for layering without compression, SoftWash Linen for heat. The previous version of this page described the fabric hand-feel as unmatched by competitors, which we removed because no such comparison is verifiable. The measurable claims we will make are narrower and checkable: the size range runs XXS to 4X, the fabrics are polyesters and elastanes with recycled content in two named cases, and the brand has published returns, price-adjustment and resale terms.
Strategic Strengths
- Fabric compositions are published per fabric rather than described only as feel, which makes the garments comparable. Spacedye is 87% polyester and 13% elastane, glowzone is 75% recycled nylon and 25% elastane, Aerial Jersey is 94% Lyocell and 6% elastane, Fade Out Terry is 55% BCI cotton and 45% recycled polyester, Featherweight Spacedye is 94% polyester and 6% spandex, and SoftWash Linen is 100% linen.
- The size range is wider than the apparel category norm and is verifiable on product pages, not just marketing copy. The Featherweight Daydreamer Pullover alone lists XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, 1X, 2X, 3X and 4X colourways, and the published size guide table runs from XXS to 4X.
- Each fabric is tied to a stated use case rather than a mood. Spacedye is for active moments and also for days off, glowzone is for high-sweat situations including HIIT, spin, hot yoga and Pilates, Featherweight Spacedye is described as the lightweight version of the best-selling Spacedye, cut without the compressive fit so it can be layered, and JetStretch Woven is a super-soft athleisure fabric.
- The returns policy is more specific and more generous than most apparel policies in this category. Returns must be initiated within 30 days of purchase with a valid receipt, and Beyond Yoga provides a prepaid return label or a QR code through a self-serve portal, with free US shipping and returns stated as standard across the site.
- There is a fourteen-day price adjustment on full-price items, which is published rather than discretionary, so a buyer who sees a drop within two weeks can ask for the difference.
- A resale programme exists and is run through ThredUp. Customers send styles they no longer wear to ThredUp with free shipping and receive Beyond Yoga credit for eligible items that sell, with the page stating an extra 10% in Beyond Yoga shopping credit for a limited time.
- Physical retail is confirmed with street addresses rather than vague claims, including 1409 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, California, 152 N Larchmont Blvd in Los Angeles, and a New York pop-up at 108 5th Ave. We did not find a store count on the pages we could read, so we are not asserting one.
Operational Risks & Limitations
- There is no product warranty page. The policy pages published are returns, terms, shipping, fabric guides, sizing and offer terms, and nothing in that set promises cover against manufacturing defects, so a garment defect has to go through the returns route rather than a warranty claim.
- Removed care tags void the return. The returns policy states plainly that if the care tag or label is removed, the garment cannot be refunded or exchanged, which is stricter than most and rules out trying a garment on at length.
- Final sale items are neither refunded nor exchanged, and final-sale garments that arrive inside another return are discarded without a refund.
- Orders cannot be combined. The policy asks customers not to mix items from different orders because it slows processing and may mean no refund, and non-Beyond Yoga items in the parcel are thrown away.
- There are no free returns outside the United States. The policy states free returns cannot be offered from APO bases or for international orders; those customers choose their own carrier and keep the tracking number, and duties and taxes are not refunded even though the refund is issued on arrival.
- Exchanges cannot be completed in store. Exchange orders have to be returned online, which is an extra step if you wanted to swap in a shop.
- Return QR codes expire 24 hours after the return is processed, so a delayed drop-off can void the prepaid route without warning.
- The responsive photo and quick-view overlay on collection pages is heavy to load, and the rendered pages we retrieved were dense with placeholder imagery, which is a real usability cost on a site where the fabric hand-feel is the entire product story.
- Prices sit at the upper end of the category for the pieces we sampled. The eleven women's best-sellers we captured on 2026-10-05 were priced between $68 and $148, with two of them marked down to $39.50 and $49.50, so the entry point moves with promotion cycles rather than sitting low.
Risk Assessment
The risk here is brand-dependence rather than product failure. Beyond Yoga's differentiation rests on named proprietary fabrics and a soft hand-feel, and a customer who buys Spacedye because it is soft will look for that exact fabric next time rather than for the brand name, so the category competes with any other brand selling a similarly soft polyester-elastane blend. Two further caveats we are flagging rather than smoothing over. The previous version of this page credited a fabric called Butterluxe; that string appears nowhere in the fabric guide, and the words buttery soft do appear, but as Spacedye's own description, so the instinct behind the claim was right and the product name was invented. And the sustainability claims in the previous version could not be confirmed: Beyond Yoga publishes a sustainability page and runs a ThredUp resale programme, but the sustainability page returned no readable content when we fetched it, so the only recycled-material facts we will state are the two fibre percentages the fabric guide itself lists, glowzone at 75% recycled nylon and Fade Out Terry at 45% recycled polyester. We have not worn or tested these garments.
Buyer Recommendation
Choose Beyond Yoga if you want soft fabric and a fit you can actually find your size in, and you are doing yoga, barre, pilates, stretching or nothing much at all. Check three things. Confirm the fabric is named on the product page, because the hand-feel claim only applies to the specific fabrics: Spacedye is the soft best-seller, glowzone is the one built for HIIT, spin, hot yoga and pilates. Order one size in two sizes if you can, given the size range runs XXS to 4X but the cut will still differ between the Featherweight and standard Spacedye lines. And keep the care tag attached, because removing it makes the garment non-refundable. If you want a technical garment built for running or high-intensity training with a specific compression profile, read the fibre content rather than the feel description, and compare against our lululemon review and our Alo Yoga review, which we wrote from their own published policy pages.
Best For
- Yoga, pilates, barre and stretching, where the softness of Spacedye is the reason to buy.
- Anyone who has repeatedly failed to find their size in branded activewear. The published range runs XXS to 4X and product pages carry colourways in every one of those sizes.
- HIIT, spin, hot yoga and pilates classes, using glowzone, which the brand specifies for high-sweat situations and builds from 75% recycled nylon with 25% elastane.
- Buyers who want to resell rather than landfill a garment. Beyond Yoga runs a ThredUp programme that accepts styles you no longer wear and pays out in Beyond Yoga credit.
- Warm-weather and casual wear. SoftWash Linen is 100% linen, JetStretch Woven is a super-soft athleisure fabric, and Fade Out Terry is a French terry with a lived-in look from the first wear.
Ideal Buyer Profile
- Someone whose main activity is low-impact and whose priority is how the fabric feels against the skin rather than compression, sweat-handling or temperature regulation.
- A buyer in the US who wants prepaid return shipping, since free US shipping and returns are stated as standard across the site, though there is no equivalent free return for APO, FPO or international addresses.
- A buyer who reads fibre content. Spacedye is 87% polyester and 13% elastane, glowzone is 75% recycled nylon and 25% elastane, and those two numbers behave very differently in a hot class.
- Anyone willing to slow down for a fourteen-day price check, since the returns policy publishes a price adjustment on full-price items within 14 days of purchase.
Not Recommended For
- Buyers who want a compression profile. The brand is explicit that Featherweight Spacedye is cut without the compressive fit so it can be layered, which is a design decision and will feel wrong to anyone shopping for support.
- Anyone expecting a warranty claim for a manufacturing defect. No product warranty page is published; a defect has to be resolved through the returns route within 30 days.
- International buyers hoping for free returns. Free returns are US-only and exclude APO and FPO addresses; other countries choose their own carrier and duties and taxes are not refunded.
- Shoppers who plan to try garments on at home and remove tags. Removal of the care tag or label makes the garment non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
- People buying a single item hoping to exchange sizes in a shop. Exchange orders must be returned online and cannot be completed in stores.
- Anyone buying final-sale pieces who might need to return them. Final sale items are neither refunded nor exchanged and are discarded if they arrive inside another return.
Competitive Positioning
We restrict this comparison to facts we verified on Beyond Yoga's own published pages, because the comparison claims in the previous version of this page had no sources behind them. On price, the eleven women's best-sellers we sampled on 2026-10-05 were listed between $68 and $148 with two markdowns to $39.50 and $49.50, and the shop is deep in markdowns on best-sellers rather than holding full price. On sizing, Beyond Yoga publishes XXS through 4X with the full size run shown per colourway on product pages, and has a dedicated extended-sizes collection. On fabric, the unusual thing is the disclosure: percentage compositions per named fabric, including 87% polyester and 13% elastane for Spacedye, 75% recycled nylon for glowzone, 55% BCI cotton for Fade Out Terry and 100% linen for SoftWash Linen. On terms of sale, the differences that actually matter are the thirty-day return with a prepaid label, the fourteen-day price adjustment on full-price items, the exclusion of international and APO returns from the free scheme, and the removal of the care tag as an absolute bar to a refund. What we are not asserting is any claim about how these garments compare in durability or fit to lululemon or Alo Yoga, because we have not tested any of them and neither brand's own pages make that comparison for us.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Beyond Yoga's best-selling fabric and what is it made of?
Spacedye, which the fabric guide calls the brand's best-selling fabric and describes as its buttery soft performance fabric with a unique texture and exceptionally soft hand. The published composition is 87% polyester and 13% elastane, tagged Ultra Soft, 4 Way Stretch, Moisture Wicking, Machine Washable and UV Protection. There is also Featherweight Spacedye at 94% polyester and 6% spandex, described as the lightweight version of the same fabric, cut without the compressive fit so it can be worn as a layering piece.
Is Beyond Yoga leggings good for sweaty workouts like hot yoga or HIIT?
Beyond Yoga makes a fabric specified for exactly that: glowzone, 75% recycled nylon and 25% elastane, which the fabric guide positions for high-sweat situations like HIIT, spin, hot yoga and pilates and describes as so smooth and weightless you barely notice it is there. An earlier version of this page said the brand may lack sweat-wicking for intense cardio, which was the wrong way round. The thing to check on any specific garment is whether the product page names glowzone or Spacedye, because the two fabrics are not interchangeable for a hot class.
What is Beyond Yoga's return policy and can you return free?
Returns must be initiated within 30 days of purchase with a valid receipt, and orders outside that window are reviewed case by case. Beyond Yoga provides a prepaid return label or a QR code through its Loop returns portal, and the site states free shipping and returns across the US. QR codes expire 24 hours after the return is processed. Garments must be unworn, unwashed, unaltered with original tags attached, and removing the care tag or label makes the garment non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Final sale items are not returnable and are discarded if they arrive inside another return. Orders cannot be combined, there are no free returns on APO, FPO or international addresses, and non-Beyond Yoga items in the parcel are thrown away.
How much do Beyond Yoga clothes cost?
On the eleven women's best-sellers we sampled on 5 October 2026, prices ran from $68 to $148, with two items marked down to $39.50 and $49.50 from list prices of $68 and $99. The best-seller collection is heavily discounted rather than held at full price, so the entry point moves with the promotion cycle. For comparison on positioning rather than performance, see our lululemon review and our Alo Yoga review.
What sizes does Beyond Yoga sell, and is it inclusive?
The published size guide table runs from XXS through 4X, and this is visible on product pages rather than only in the size guide: the Featherweight Daydreamer Pullover lists colourways in XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, 1X, 2X, 3X and 4X. The brand also runs an extended-sizes collection. An earlier version of this page said the range topped out at 3X, which understated it by one size.
Does Beyond Yoga offer a warranty, and can I get a price adjustment?
There is no product warranty page among the published policy pages, which cover returns, terms and conditions, shipping, fabric guides, sizing and offer terms, so we found nothing promising cover against manufacturing defects and a defect has to go through the 30-day returns route. A price adjustment is available and is written down: the returns policy states price adjustments on full-price items within 14 days of purchase. Beyond Yoga also runs a resale programme through ThredUp, where you send styles you no longer wear with free shipping and receive Beyond Yoga credit for items that sell, currently with an extra 10% in credit for a limited time.
A small team cannot hand-write a page for every brand we track, so this one is generated from the same record the scores come from. It summarises that record and reports nothing we measured.
✓ Strategic Strengths
- We hold no sourced strengths list for this brand. This is a gap in our record, not a finding: the strengths of a brand that publishes no specification sheet, no warranty schedule and no price list cannot be asserted from a record we do not have.
! Operational Risks
- We hold no sourced risks list for this brand. We have not audited it, so we are not going to report that we found nothing: an empty record is not a clean result.
